AN INVESTMENT IN THE MOST RENEWABLE RESOURCE
Carpeting and staplers wear out. Last year's computers slog along and their hard drives choke on a gluttinous diet of documents and new drivers.
Some business paraphernalia, past its shelf life, dies lonely and unused in storage closets. |
 |
Few things in the workplace get better the longer you have them. Except for people, especially when these remarking resources are properly cared for and routinely maintained.
Train them. Nurture them. Reward them with new opportunities and a chance to grow. Show that you value them and they will remain stunningly energized and committed. |

A PENCHANT FOR TRAINING
 |
Since we opened our doors, we've carved a snug little niche as training and employee communication developers, working with clients in almost every industry and helping them convert corporate knowledge into fuel for productivity and profitability
We package corporate wisdom so it lives on and freely flows from person-to-person, location-to-location, and year-to-year. |
For our clients, training is an venture that, if done well, cannot help but pay for itself. Once only seen as a cost center in an organization, training can provide an astonishing return-on-investment.
We've offered our clients media and methods to deliver skills, knowledge, and culture. |
 |
|
We've laid communication pipelines between organizations and people. We've made intellectual assets more accessible.
Training can't help but make employees feel valued and incite them to greater commitment when they see a commitment made to their growth.
We've refreshed the spirits of employees eager for any tools to make their careers more rewarding.
People are one of the few resources that can end up doing more than the original specs said they could. |

JUST BECAUSE IT'S CALLED TRAINING DOESN'T MEAN IT IS
 |
You'll sometimes find training programs that are awe-inspiring in their inventiveness and instructional impact, that inform, inspire, and enhance employee skills.
On the other end of a downhill-pointing continuum are programs that are so anesthetizing that the beleaguered employee's synapses freeze on contact, inducing an eye-glazing trance, or if the room is dark enough, a paid nap. |
But even worse are training programs that are so embarrassingly--- and let us use the technical terminology here-- dorky, that it is hard for any learner to take the content seriously. Sadly, the budget and amount of time allocated to prepare both the inspiring and the lame are often identical. |
INSTRUCTION NOT BY ACCIDENT, BUT DESIGN
Effectiveness does not necessarily come from how much you invest in dollars, but what you invest in savvy. Great training is not necessarily expensive, but it is always thoughtful and well designed.
That's why exquisite instructional design separates training that is acceptable from training that excels. |

|
We apply well-established practices to define the most effective and efficient approach to deliver knowledge that will be retained and to model behaviors that will be assimilated.
We help clients identify the right content, delivered through the most appropriate conduit, at the right level, at the right time. We define clear objectives and identify success criteria to measure how well they are being met. |
TRAINING THAT MEASURES UP
| To ensure a successful program, it should be monitored---at the initial design stage, through production, and during implementation. By measurement and through feedback, we evaluate and refine, making sure the training is: |
 |
• |
Instructionally Valid
It does what it says it will do
|
|
| • |
Creative and Image Enhancing
Attention capturing, relevant, appropriately paced training that promotes trainee buy-in and reflects the image of the organization and value of its people. |
| • |
Financially Defensible
Cost-effective training with a realistic ROI that addresses current needs but can adapt to future opportunities. |

A CONUNDRUM
Is Chuck Goldstone Communications a creative, full-figured production house known for high-end production in video, film, and electronic media, but unique because of its expertise in training and instructional design, or
Is Chuck Goldstone Communications a strategic communications consulting and training firm that happens to produce imaginative, high production-value, cost-effective materials?
Since 1979, no one has been able to say for sure.
Chuck's stature in the broadcast production, radio and TV, audio and film industry might suggest the former. But then again, his reputation in Instructional Design and years of developing training systems might convince otherwise. |

|
If someone ever finds out, Chuck would be gushingly grateful if you let him know. |
